Gabrielle Imbault’s Sun Shawl is a simple, satisfying knit that lets beautiful yarn take center stage. Using just one hank of Emma’s Super Silky, it creates a lightweight, textured shawl that really shows off hand-dyed color.
Sun is worked top down, beginning at the center and increasing every other row. It starts with smooth stockinette, moves into a soft dotted texture, and finishes with a wide seed stitch border. The stitch patterns add interest without feeling busy, making this an easy, relaxing project to settle into.
Super Silky is a lovely match for this design. Its blend of merino and silk offers crisp stitch definition so the textures stand out, while the silk adds gentle drape and a soft sheen. The result is a fabric that feels light, fluid, and comfortable to wear.
