The See My Vest - Worsted by Emily Bolduan of Maker Maker is exactly the kind of project we love for fall: simple to knit, easy to wear, and interesting enough to keep things fun. Our shop sample is knit in MODE at Rowan Colormix in Powder Blues, and the yarn's scattered blue color changes give this straightforward stockinette vest a completely different personality.

About the Yarn
We used MODE at Rowan Colormix, a wonderfully lightweight yarn that combines a creamy base with softly shifting pops of color. In Powder Blues, those little flashes of blue appear almost like hand-painted dashes across the fabric — all created by the yarn itself, with no colorwork required.
Colormix is a blend of 47% cotton, 30% wool, and 23% alpaca, with 109 yards (100 meters) in each 50-gram ball. Its airy construction gives the finished vest warmth without making it feel heavy, while the subtle color changes add plenty of interest to simple stockinette.
Design Details
See My Vest – Worsted is worked seamlessly from the top down. You begin with the upper back, work to the underarms, then pick up stitches for each front shoulder and shape the neckline. The front and back are joined to work the body in the round, and ribbed bands are added around the neck and armholes at the end.
The pattern is designed for 0–1½ inches of positive ease, giving it a comfortable, easy fit that's perfect for layering over a tee, blouse, or lightweight sweater. The original length is fairly cropped, but because it's worked from the top down, it's easy to add extra length if you prefer.

The quantities above are rounded up to full 100-meter balls of Colormix. If you plan to lengthen your vest, pick up an extra ball to be safe.
Needles: US 7 (4.5mm) circular needles for the body and US 4 (3.5mm) circular needles for the ribbing, or sizes needed to get gauge.
Gauge: 18 stitches and 25 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.
Notions: 1–2 stitch markers plus scrap yarn, a stitch holder, or a spare circular needle for holding stitches.
