For our shop sample, we used Malabrigo Rios in Pisces, a beautiful hand-dyed mix of blues, lavender, and soft multicolored flecks. The simple stitch pattern is a perfect backdrop for the variation in the yarn, letting the color do much of the work.
About the Yarn
Malabrigo Rios is a worsted-weight, 100% superwash merino wool with 210 yards per 100-gram skein. Its four-ply construction gives it a smooth, springy feel and lovely stitch definition, while Malabrigo’s hand-dyed colors add depth even to the simplest knitting.

Morning Walk is a one-piece triangular shawl worked flat. The design alternates garter stitch and stockinette stitch to form understated textured stripes across the fabric.

The finished shawl measures approximately 63 inches across the wingspan and 13 inches deep, and the pattern includes instructions for making it larger if you prefer a more generous wrap.

The pattern calls for 400–420 yards, so two skeins of Rios provide the required 420 yards for the original size. If you decide to enlarge the shawl, you’ll want additional yarn.
