We designed the Tulip Cowl for the 2025 Philly Yarn Crawl, and it remains a shop favorite thanks to its simple construction, easy colorwork, and wearable shape. We chose Sandnes Garn Line because it's light and breathable, and the crawl is in March when we're heading into warmer weather.
About the Yarn
Sandnes Garn Line is one of our go-to yarns for spring and summer knitting. The blend of cotton, viscose, and linen creates a fabric with a soft drape that improves with wear. It’s comfortable to wear indoors or out and makes this cowl an easy accessory for shifting seasons. Line also creates stitches with crisp definition that really lets the colorwork shine.

Design Details
The Tulip Cowl is worked in the round using a simple slipped-stitch colorwork pattern. Only one color is used at a time, making it approachable even if you’re new to colorwork.

What You'll Need
- Size: One size, 9" tall and 26" in circumference.
- Yarn: Sandnes Garn Line in three colors; 2 balls for the main color and 1 ball each of 2 contrast colors. For the warm version, we used Acorn for the main color and Spicy Orange and Bubblegum Pink for the contrast colors. For the cool version, we used White for the main color and Regatta Blue and Starlight Blue for the contrast colors.
