Since its release in 2022, the Sophie Scarf has become one of the world's most knitted patterns. Made with under 200 yards of DK weight yarn, it knits up quickly and gives you a scarf you can wear many ways - and all of them stylish!
For our latest, we chose our in-house hand-dyed yarn Tendril for its drape and beautiful shimmer.

About the Yarn
Loop Tendril is a DK-weight blend of merino wool and silk that combines softness with beautiful stitch definition. The merino provides warmth and bounce, while the silk adds a subtle sheen that catches the light without overwhelming the fabric.
For a pattern as simple as the Sophie Scarf, the yarn becomes the star. Tendril highlights every garter ridge and every neatly worked i-cord edge, giving the finished scarf a polished, refined look.
Since one hank is all you need, it's also a wonderful way to experience Loop Tendril if you haven't knitted with it before.
Design Details
Designed by PetiteKnit, the Sophie Scarf is worked flat from tip to tip in garter stitch with built-in i-cord edges. Gentle increases create the scarf's distinctive shape before matching decreases bring it back to a tapered point. It's an uncomplicated knit that produces a wonderfully sophisticated finished piece.
One of our favorite things about this pattern is its versatility. Browse through finished projects online, and you'll find Sophie Scarves in everything from cashmere and alpaca to wool, cotton blends, and hand-dyed yarns. The same pattern takes on an entirely different character depending on the yarn you choose, making it a project that's fun to knit again and again.
