Loop Tendril is our DK-weight blend of superwash merino and silk, hand-dyed in small batches in Philadelphia. Merino gives the yarn softness and warmth, while silk adds a gentle sheen and fluid drape.

Tendril brings depth to simple stockinette and shows off textured stitches beautifully. Use it for a small accessory that lets the color shine, or make a soft sweater or wrap you'll enjoy wearing close to the skin.

Why You'll Love Tendril

  • Softness with drape: Merino feels comfortable against the skin, while silk gives finished pieces a fluid feel.
  • Subtle sheen: Silk catches the light and adds depth to Tendril's hand-dyed colors.
  • Clear stitch definition: Simple stitches and textured patterns both look beautiful in this smooth yarn.

What to Knit with Loop Tendril

Tendril's softness and drape suit accessories as well as larger pieces. These Loop projects show a few ways to use it:

  • Garter Bandana — a simple, one-skein project that shows off Tendril's color and drape.
  • Norland Park Mitts — textured mitts; one skein makes two pairs.
  • Calla Poncho — a flowing larger project that uses 4–7 skeins, depending on size.

Hand-Dyed in Philadelphia

Tendril is part of our exclusive Loop Yarn collection, hand-dyed in small batches in Philadelphia. Its merino and silk blend gives Loop's signature colors a soft sheen, whether you knit with Tendril on its own or pair it with another yarn from the collection.

Lovely!

All I’ve done so far is hold this sweet yarn, and “petting” it! But I’ve been so happy doing that, I’m in no hurry to do more than that right now.the Spruce is really a nice color. Next time I’ll order some Cyprus to coordinate with it. Fun to contemplate it!

Oh my!

I’m knitting a shawl holding Tendril and Posy together and am digging on every stitch. I would love to knit a cardigan from one of Loop’s perfectly color-matched combos, but I might be even happier knitting with Tendril alone. It’s heavenly! I mentioned on the Posey page that the dyer is on staff at the shop, so wait-time for the out-of-stock color and quantity I wanted was a matter of about ten days. I recommend that if what you want is not on the shelf, you ask. But back to Tendril: It’s the stuff of my dreams.

Tendril is stunning

I made 4 sets of Norland park mitts and 2 cowl’s for Christmas presents. Tendril is so easy to work with and the silky shine made each item have its own personality. Ease of washing added to putting this as one of my new favorite blends to work with.
