New from Emma's Yarn: gorgeous Suri Silk! These fabulous skeins are light as a feather and are dyed in a range of candy colored hues. Suri Silk is slightly fluffier than most silk mohair lace weights, making it easier to knit with on its own. That said, it also makes a perfect carry along to add a soft halo to your knits.

Try Suri Silk if you have mohair sensitivities! The alpaca content tends to be softer and works well for those that don't wear mohair.

Cast on for a Frond of You Cowl with 2 skeins!

  • 74% Suri alpaca, 26% silk
  • lace, 6 sts= 1 inch on US 4 needles
  • 328 yards/ 50 grams
  • hand wash, lay flat to dry

Yarn

I would suggest that this yarn is not for inexperienced knitters. It is lovely but I find that it is easy to add stitches by mistakenly picking up the “halo”. I am 86 and have been knitting since I was about 7 or 8 years of age using all types of yarn. This while lovely is kind of sticky…odd to say…but I do have to pay pretty close attention. Lovely feel to it…

Perfect for those who can't wear mohair!

Purchased Kisses to use in my hand spun yarn to 2 ply; gave just enough loft and softness to yarn instead of a hat I want to knit a cowl! It's a wonderful yarn for me since I can't wear mohair. I purchased Himalayan Salt, Whisper (white) and Dusk til Dawn. Love this yarn!!

Soft and Silky

This yarn is soft and silky with a beautiful halo. It has a fuller halo than mohair/silk blends. Really nice subtle tonal variations. I used it as a carry along with a fingering weight hand spun for a scarf.
