Shibui Knitalong Wrap-Up

This past March we decided to have a staff Shibui Knitalong. We could knit anything we liked, as long as it was made with Shibui yarns.

The last of us cast off at the end of May, and I am so pleased to show you this gorgeous group of garments!

Meghan was the first to finish with her Weekender by Andrea Mowry knit in Maai and Pebble held together. I cannot emphasize enough the gorgeous softness of this yarn combination.

The next to finish was Kathy with her Princess Fiona sweater by Amy Miller. Knit in Shibui Birch, this pullover fits Kathy perfectly and the cove colorway looks beautiful on her!

After a few starts and stops, Barb cast off her Holey Comfort Cardigan by Hintern Stein knit with Lunar + Reed held together. She used Fjord + Fog colorways

My photo really doesn't do the color complexity of the fabric justice. It's prettiest blue gray and the Reed gives a beautiful crisp stitch definition. The fit is fabulous and I know Barb will get a ton of wear out of this this summer!

Mary knit Veronika by Julie Weisenberger, using Silk Cloud & Pebble held together in the cove colorway. This Swoncho is so flattering on Mary. If I were her, I would be wearing this piece every day- summer or no- it's that beautiful!

Meredith knit Cullum by Isabel Kraemer using Twig. Twig truly is the perfect summer tee yarn. It's cool and lightweight with excellent drape!

The lace detail is lovely and the fjord colorway was definitely made for Meredith!

My original plan was to knit a sweater with Pebble, but I got the itch to get out my loom, so I wove a scarf instead! I am so glad I did. Using Pebble for the warp and weft made the most incredibly lightweight, warm fabric for a scarf that is minimal but feels luxurious! I will definitely be weaving more with Pebble of all different colors!

All in all, we chose well! Everyone loved knitting with Shibui and we created garments that we'll wear again and again. Win, win!
