Brioche creates a fluffy textured rib, beloved by many of today's designers. In this class, you'll get an introduction to both 1 and 2-color brioche. In week 1, you'll learn to knit 1-color brioche. Then, in week 2, you'll cast on for a cowl using 2 colors. You'll learn the ins and outs of this beautiful stitch, including how to fix mistakes.
We will provide the scarf + cowl pattern for each stitch, using it as our guide. You can start each as a new project or use them to create a swatch.
Materials:For a 1-color brioche scarf, you'll need 300 yards of worsted weight yarn and US 8 needles. For a 2-color cowl, you'll need 100 yards of 2 colors of bulky yarn and a US 10.5 16-inch circular.
Homework: Please come to class with your yarn purchased, wound, and ready to knit.
Skill Level: This class is suitable for graduates of Knit 3 or those who have completed several small projects using a pattern. You must be confident knitting, purling, increasing, and decreasing.
