Knitted Wit Worsted is a soft, machine washable merino dyed in a cheerful array of vibrant colors. When the Funfetti colorway arrived, we knew we had to cast on for a kid knit STAT!
We paired a skein each of Funfetti with Aquamarine and chose the Shoots and Ladders Hat. It's simple cables, cute earflaps and pom-pom are irresistible. We knit the 1 year size and had plenty of yarn left over to stripe it up and make the World's Simplest Mittens as well.
Our young friend Delphine is seen here modelling the version her mother knit! You can see that, when the hat is being worn, the cables really open up but the ribby texture holds the hat in place. Could she be any cuter?
Both patterns have good, clear directions that are easy to follow. The generous sizing in each pattern allows you knit for all ages of little ones. There are few techniques that may be a challenge for brand new knitters, but if you are an adventurous beginner, I always recommend jumping in and giving it a try!
