Spring is just about here and the Loop staff is ready for a new knitalong. We were so pleased with our finished pieces from last year's Shibui KAL that we decided to do it again this spring. If you are a fellow Shibui enthusiast, we'd love for you to join us!
The rules are simple, knit any pattern you like in Shibui Knits yarn! Some of us have already cast on and some of are still swatching so there's plenty of time to join in. This is an informal KAL, so there's no set end date, but we have a loose deadline of July 1st.
We'll be using the hashtag #loopshibuikal2019 on Instagram, if you'd like to share your progress & photos with us.
Want to join but don't know what to knit? Start by looking at the new Shibui patterns for spring. If those aren't quite right, here's what we're making:
I'm making Westbound by Elizabeth Doherty using a double strand of Reed. I love the blueprint colorway, so I'm making it the same as the designer! This pattern has the option for longer sleeves, which I think I may add so that I can wear it into the fall as well.
Barb is making Calyx by Elizabeth Doherty. She's using mix of Reed and Twig in blueprint to create a beautiful 3 season sweater.
Kathy is using Lunar and Pebble in shore to knit Erika Flory's RBG shawl. I can't wait to see this yarn combo made up!
Meghan is making an amazing version of Tecumseh by Caitlin Hunter using several colors of Lunar and Pebble held together.
Meredith is knitting the lovely Amrum sweater by Katrin Schneider using Pebble in deep water. I can see her wearing this all the time!
Mary is going to weave a beautiful wrap with Lunar and Pebble. This fabric is going to be incredible!
