Kakigoriis an outstanding choice for colorful knitted summer tees! We used it to knit a Classic Tee by designer Kay Hopkins, and it's destined to become a summer staple! We love how this pattern incorporates all of the best things about a comfy v-neck tee shirt but in a modern way that allows Kakigori's colors and flecks to take center stage as you dress up your jeans and t-shirt uniform!
A blend of cotton, silk and viscose makes a soft, light and drapey fabric that's ideal for summer knits. It's unusual to find a completely non-wool yarn with so much gorgeous color! It's an excellent choice for gift knitting for those with wool allergies- they deserve Noro color too!
Kakigori is chock full of fun, tweedy flecks that pop and shine, giving way to the subtlest of stripes! It comes in giant 660-yard balls, meaning you'll only need one or two balls to complete your warm-weather tees and accessories!
This tee is knit top-down, is completely seamless, and virtually finish-free - just block it and weave in your ends (and there won't be many since Kakigori has such great yardage!).
The rolled edge on the neckline is knit as you go, so there's no need to pick up stitches. And since it's knit top down, you can adjust the sleeve and body length as you like!
To knit the Classic Tee, you'll need:
- 2-3 balls of Kakigori - we used the naha colorway.
- US 4 + 5 16" circular needles
- US 4 + 5 32" circular needles
- Classic Tee pattern
