In this class, you will knit a fair isle sweater in the round from the top down and then steek it to make a cardigan! We are using the beautiful Solbein sweater pattern by Mary Jane Mucklestone.

Steeking is the process of knitting extra stitches into a sweater so you can cut into it later. This way you can knit all your fair isle in the round, which is much easier than knitting back and forth, and end up with a cardigan!

Materials: Pattern, enough non-superwash chunky weight yarn to knit the sweater in the desired size- we recommend Brooklyn Tweed Quarry, circular and double-pointed needles in the sizes needed to get gauge, stitch holders or waste yarn, stitch markers, tapestry needle, crochet hook.

Homework: Please come to the first class with your pattern purchased, yarn selected and your swatch knit.

Skill Level: This class is for graduates of our Fair Isle Yoked Sweater Class and those that are familiar with colorwork. You are comfortable working from a pattern and have completed several projects previously.

Wednesday, February 12, 26, March 18 and 25 from 6:00 to 7:30PM
