In this class, you will knit a fair-isle vest in the round from the bottom up and then steek the sleeves and neck to make a pullover! We are using the Huxley pattern by Jared Flood.
Steeking is the process of knitting extra stitches into a sweater so you can cut into it later. This way you can knit all your fair isle in the round, which is much easier than knitting back and forth, and end up with a wearable vest! You can then apply this technique to any colorwork sweater or vest you choose!
Materials: Pattern, enough worsted weight yarn to knit the sweater in the desired size, circular needles in the sizes needed to get gauge, stitch markers, tapestry needle, crochet hook.
Homework: Please come to the first class with your pattern purchased, yarn selected, and ideally, your hem ribbing knit.
Skill Level: This class is perfect for graduates of our Fair Isle Cowl Class and those that have previously knit at least one colorwork project. You are comfortable working from a pattern and have completed several projects previously.
