Classes in Newtown Square

We are now offering classes at our Newtown Square location! Come meet other crafters and learn from our talented teachers in a bright and comfortable setting.

Classes are limited in size and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Full payment is needed to reserve your space. Supplies are not included in class fee unless stated.

Cancellations must be made at least 3 days before the first class for a store credit or to move to a different class or session. We cannot offer a store credit if we receive less than 3 days notice. Unfortunately, we cannot offer make-up sessions, so please make sure you can attend each class. If a class is canceled, you’ll receive a full refund.

Classes with special guest teachers are non-refundable but may be transferred to a friend if you’re unable to attend.

All classes are for students 18 years of age and older.

Our hours are Wednesday through Friday, 10-5 and Saturday, 10-4.

Knit 1: A Neck Warmer
$110 includes all materials

Enter the world of hand knitting! You’ll learn to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off with straight needles. After working with practice yarn, you’ll start your neck warmer, picking up tips and tricks along the way as your skills improve.

Knitting with straight needles – or knitting flat – will enable you to knit scarves, wraps, blankets – even sweater pieces.

Materials: All materials are included in the cost of this class.

Skill level: No experience required!


Knit 2: A Hat
$72 includes all materials

Saturday, May 30, June 6 from 12:30-2PM

In Knit 2, you’ll learn to cast on to circular needles, to join in the round, to switch to double pointed needles and to make decreases while you knit your hat. Once you’re comfortable with knitting in the round, you can make a variety of hats, cowls, and infinity scarves.

Materials: All materials are included in the cost of this class.

Skill level: For graduates of Knit 1 or knitters who can cast on, knit, purl, and bind off.

Fair Isle Cowl
$46 plus materials
Wednesday, March 25 and April 1 from 10:30AM-12PM

Fair Isle knitting is a centuries old technique of using two colors in the same row to create beautiful designs in your knitting. You’ll learn to hold and manage your yarns while maintaining your tension while knitting a colorful cowl with traditional motifs.

Materials: TinCanKnits’ Strange Brew pattern, 4 hanks of Brooklyn Tweed Arbor 1 each in Rainier and Tincture, 2 of Fleet or a comparable DK-weight yarn; 16-inch size US 4 and US 6 circular needles, stitch markers, and darning needle.

Homework: Using the smaller needle, cast on 132 stitches and work K1, P1 rib for 1 inch.

Skill level: This class is for graduates of Knit 2 or those who are comfortable knitting and purling in the round.



Fair Isle Sweater
$92 plus materials
April 17, 24, May 8 and 15 from 10:30AM-12PM

Our Fair Isle Sweater class is the perfect introduction to the world of colorwork yoked sweater knitting! First you’ll choose your pattern: Soldotna Crop, Mountain Mist or Fern & Feather (shown L to R in the photo). Then, you’ll learn to knit a sweater from the top down. You’ll knit your colorwork yoke and then separate the sleeves and and body of the sweater and knit them. Weave in the ends and you’ve got yourself a new sweater!

Materials: Pattern, enough DK or worsted weight yarn for the size and style you’re making, circular and double pointed needles in the sizes to get gauge, stitch holders or waste yarn, stitch markers, and tapestry needle.

Homework: Please come to the first class with your pattern purchased, yarn selected and your swatch knit. We’ll give you swatching instructions when you select your yarn.

Skill level: This class is for graduates of Knit 2 and those who are comfortable knitting and purling in the round.
