I rewrote this review because it ended up with five stars. I intended one star: I hate to write this review of Malabrigo Chunky. The yarn quickly “fuzzes” ending up looking as though it has a halo around it. I am knitting a poncho for my granddaughter that called for chunky yarn, my first time knitting with chunky yarn. The poncho won’t look good for long. I can’t even imagine after just one careful hand washing. I am so disappointed in how this will look after limited wearing, I plan to send a selection of poncho patterns with this garment, asking her to pick another pattern that does not call for chunky yarn. Maybe this is characteristic of chunky yarns. It’s such a gorgeous color, I’m sad to give this to her.
