Designer Joji Locatelli set out to explore the effect of very different yarns in a single piece for her Study in Texture shawl. She chose four different yarns in a variety of weights. And where color was concerned, she chose to use high contrast shades.
For our version, we selected just two yarns in two different weights. And for the striped section of the shawl, we relied on texture only, choosing the same color of two different yarns.
The body of our shawl is made with Shibui Silk Cloud and Shibui Twig both in the color Mineral. The edging is also made in Twig, but in Poppy. We used 1 skein each of Silk Cloud in Mineral, Twig in Mineral, and Twig in Poppy for our shawl.
The result is a beautiful, light weight shawl that's both ethereal and earthy. Perfect for year-round wear!
