Knitter, designer, author, and teacher Wendy D. Johnson returns to Loop on Friday and Saturday, March 26 and 27 with her new book, Toe-Up Socks for Every Body Join us Friday evening from 5 to 7 pm for a book signing. You can meet and chat with Wendy and have her sign your book - we’ll have plenty of copies on hand! Then come back on Saturday and learn more about toe-up socks in a class with Wendy. Toes and Heels for Toe-Up Socks$35 - Saturday, March 27 from 10 am to 12 noon This workshop is geared towards knitters who have perhaps made top-down socks (but experience with top-down socks is not required) and are interested in learning how to turn their sock knitting upside-down and go toe-up! You will learn how to cast on for toe-up socks, and create heels for toe-up socks. We will work through the cast-ons and heels, step-by-step. A handout that documents and provides instructions for several different cast-ons and heels will be provided, so you can re-create at home what you’ve learned in class. Prerequisites: You should be comfortable knitting in the round (either on two circular needles, using the magic loop technique, or on dpns).
